Ryan Katz, M.D.
Ryan Katz, M.D., is a renowned hand surgeon specializing in plastic surgery of the upper extremities. He is an expert in microvascular surgery and complex reconstructions of the hand, forearm, wrist and fingers, as well as other limb reconstructions. He works alongside surgeons Dr. Clayton Alexander and Dr. Gregory Gasbarro of The Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Center at Mercy and sees patients in Ellicott City, Lutherville and Reisterstown.
Expert in Microsurgery
Dr. Ryan Katz treats acute injuries and chronic conditions including fractures, lacerations, soft tissue defects, nerve compression syndromes and ligament injuries. He is a highly specialized microsurgeon who uses a surgical microscope and fine instruments to perform surgery on very small body structures often less than one millimeter in diameter. Dr. Katz uses this technique, known as microsurgery, for reconstructive procedures like wound repair and free tissue transfers (moving tissue from one body part to another), reattaching amputated limbs (limb salvage), and repairing damaged nerves and vessels after trauma.
Respected and Experienced Baltimore Hand Surgeon
Dr. Katz is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He completed a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at The Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland, where he also served as Fellowship Educator, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and team surgeon for more than 15 years.
Dr. Katz is a widely respected and highly sought after Baltimore hand surgeon.
