Mercy Oncologist Dr. Sandy Kotiah Receives Pink Heart Award for Her Work in Combatting Cancer, Including Breast Cancer

Sandy D. Kotiah, M.D., board-certified medical oncologist, director of The Neuroendocrine Tumor Center at Mercy, and a member of Medical Oncology and Hematology at Mercy, has been named recipient of the Pink Heart Award, presented at the 8th Annual All Boobs Matter Community Event, presented by Reinvent U Spa & Wellness in Pikesville, Maryland, on Sunday, Oct. 19th, 2025.
The Pink Heart Award recognizes contributions to the fight against breast cancer, including raising awareness, advocacy and/or providing support and care to those affected by breast cancer.
Dr. Kotiah leads a multidisciplinary team of specialty doctors focused on providing some of the best treatment options for rare neuroendocrine diseases, including neuroendocrine tumors, blood cancers (such as multiple myeloma), breast cancer, colon and rectal cancer, lung cancer and lymphoma. In particular, Dr. Kotiah has specialized training and certification in performing bone marrow biopsies and administering intrathecal chemotherapy. She visits her patients during chemotherapy treatments to provide support and comfort and keeps her patients’ primary care doctors informed of their treatment progress.
A lecturer and researcher in her field, Dr. Sandy Kotiah has been recognized with a Patients' Choice Award. The award is based on patient feedback and in recognition of Dr. Kotiah’s compassionate care and bedside manner. She also has been named a “Top Doctor” in medical oncology by Baltimore magazine, as well as Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd.
All Boobs Matter is a community-driven initiative focused on raising awareness about breast cancer, promoting early detection, and providing support to survivors and those currently battling the disease. Through annual events and ongoing advocacy, All Boobs Matter strives to educate, empower and inspire individuals to take charge of their health and support one another in the fight against breast cancer.
The event took place outdoors in the parking area at Reinvent U Spa & Wellness at 1321 Bedford Avenue. Highlights included a marching band performance, wine tasting, health screening, a line dancing demonstration by DMV Pressure, food trucks, vendors and special vocal performances. Open to the public, All Boobs Matter event attendees were encouraged to wear pink in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.
