David Falk, M.D., a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with The Maryland Spine Center, part of The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital at Mercy , and Lindsey Carrier, PA-C, certified physician assistant with Sports Medicine at Mercy, are guests of Mercy Medical Center’s ongoing talk show series, Medoscopy, airing on Facebook Watch, Wed.-Thurs., Aug. 27th and 28th, at 5:30 p.m. (www.facebook.com/MercyMedicalCenter).

A 30-minute, pre-taped program that explores the background and lives of Mercy clinicians, patients and others, Medoscopy was launched in 2022 and airs in two 15-minute segments. To view past episodes, visit the Medoscopy playlist on the Mercy Medical Center YouTube channel.

In this latest installment, Dr. Falk relates his time growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, and how his father, a gastroenterologist, helped inspire his interest in medicine as a career. Lindsey chats about why the state of Maine remains her “happy place” and of her interest in running (including in the Marine Corps Marathon) and playing soccer.

Dr. Falk also discussed an article he co-authored in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, wherein he examined how orthopedic surgery residents struggle to adjust from classroom learning to learning in the operating room. Lindsey relayed her experience doing volunteer work for the Preble Street Homeless Shelter and the Milestone Recovery facility in Portland, Maine.

Medoscopy is filmed on the campus of Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore with video, sound, and lighting by Zinnia Films.
