Dr. Michael Abraham Named Chair of Department of Emergency Medicine at Mercy Medical Center

Michael Abraham, M.D., has been named the new chair of the department of emergency medicine at Mercy Medical Center.

Dr. Abraham is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and currently serves as an associate professor in the department of emergency medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. 

Dr. Abraham received his medical degree from the Leonard Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and completed his internship, residency and chief residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

“Dr. Abraham’s extensive background in emergency medicine, combined with his teaching and research experience, position him well to lead Mercy’s emergency department into the future,” said Dr. David N. Maine, President and CEO, Mercy Health Services, Mercy Medical Center.

Dr. Abraham’s credentials include completion of an American College of Emergency Physicians Teaching Fellowship and participation in the Academic Life in Emergency Medicine Faculty Incubator program. He has been recognized as a “Top Doc” by Baltimore magazine and is an experienced teacher, researcher and author with numerous peer-reviewed publications to his credit. 

Dr. Abraham also is an active member of the American College of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
