Are you getting enough magnesium? Magnesium is an important mineral in our bodies that helps with numerous bodily functions, from relaxing sore muscles to relieving anxiety.

According to Mercy primary care and geriatric specialist Ernestine A. Wright, M.D., FACP, there are certain signs that help determine if you are deficient.

"The first, headaches. Headaches are very common in magnesium deficiency. And the second would be constipation. And if you feel you are very tired and lethargic, you have no energy, you may want to check your magnesium levels," Dr. Wright said.

Dr. Wright added that magnesium is also important in helping you get a good night's sleep, but you should not buy supplements until you talk to your doctor and have your levels checked.
